Shane Taylor
Died October 13, 2015
A Tribute to Shane:
He loved Jimi Hendrix and pecan pie. He loved kids and the beach. He loved music and musicians and art of every kind. He loved people and life and especially women. He loved AC/DC, especially if I would bang my head along with him.
He loved me and not just a little bit. He loved life and not just a little bit. I loved him...and NOT just a little bit.
He believed that, if you're gonna love, love hard. And, he lived by that. He believed that, if you're gonna be alive, live hard. And, he left this world doing that.
He was passionate and adorable and horribly inappropriate and so funny. He was really, really funny. He absolutely loved to laugh and both his smile and his laugh were hopelessly contagious.
He was so much of my childhood and not nearly enough of my adulthood. He was my Peter Pan.
I don't know much about Heaven, but I know it is beauty and perfect freedom and that there is unceasing music and he will most certainly dance to it. He will dance with our Granny, my sister and his mother, all of whom LOVED to dance. I absolutely know that there will be dancing in Heaven today and that is my saving grace, my "silver lining."
And, I know that the man the world knows as my cousin, but I proudly call "brother," was met by Jesus last night with the kind of grace and warm welcome that Shane Taylor never failed to show others and he now has peace and comfort and rest...and everlasting music.
Party on, Garth. See you when…
